Myth: Sugar makes you fat America

FACT: Making America Fat Bad Decisions

All legitimate science agrees that the causes of the continuous weight gain in the developed nations, a variety of environmental, psychological and physiological factors that are not made of sugar and sweeteners. Researchers have found that obesity was positively associated with time spent on television or a computer and high-fat diet. This review looked at 38,409 persons ages 20-74 and found no increase in body mass or obesity in the population of sugar-sweetened beverages consumed against those who did not. Sweeteners are (unfortunately guilt by association because of their presence in the food and beverage, and thus calories), we choose to consume. In other words, we can something thick on if we are to burn more calories than we eat even though we only eat whole grains, fish and salads.

According to a 2003 article in Obesity Research, "The use of sugar substitutes has risen around the world and has consumed a growing number of calories per day, contributing that leads to weight gain. The sad truth is that we as a society simply do poor eating and drinking habits. No one would argue that a good diet is high in sugar (and high in nutrient-deficient foods that they supply) for you, but at the end of this poor food choices simply a delivery vehicle for surplus Calories forgotten. And you do not, too many nutrients can lead to unhealthy, including would, meat, vitamins and minerals, fish oil, etc. Americans do not have nearly the rate of heart disease, obesity and diabetes, if we just take sugar in moderation. Unfortunately we would probably fill the gap calories with something else, and produce the blame all our problems to the replacement meal. So, there's nothing inherently fat sugar is. The reality is that sugary foods make up a substantial proportion of the diet of typical American. coupled with low daily work is a recipe for disaster, tipping the scale in favor of weight gain. A better food here is limiting, or eliminating junk food from your diet and get more physical activity, weight lose tone and improve overall health is not. "Do not eat sugar, it makes you fat."

Myth: High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) makes fatter than sugar and leads to type 2 diabetes

FACT: The consumption of sugar substitutes in America since its peak in 1999 decreased while obesity has risen faster than any other time in our history

This is an offshoot of the sugar myth. It's just another urban legend, according to John S. White, Ph.D., a leading research consultant who specializes in carbohydrates. "These allegations - such as increased fat production or increased appetite - poorly conceived experimentation of little relevance to the human diet, the test, an unusually high level of fructose as sole carbohydrate, often in poor animals, the models are based on human metabolism. "Most anti-HFCS nonsense of the public will be made available to research showing the negative effects of a diet unusually high fructose, not HFCS is based. In order to clarify similar fructose in HFCS regular sugar. HFCS starts, corn syrup, which is primarily glucose. By an enzymatic process, a large proportion of glucose is fructose so that the comparatively high fructose syrup in comparison to normal corn syrup. White granulated sugar is 50/50 on glucose and fructose. HFCS is used in most beverages, higher 42% and 55% fructose, not much, and perhaps even lower in fructose than regular sugar (sucrose). The ratio of glucose in the American food supply fructose remained fairly constant since the 1960s. To really eat a diet with plenty of fructose would, to go out of their way to do it and it would be easy to make. Studies have looked at the metabolism of HFCS, its effects on insulin, appetite, leptin and ghrelin and found no significant difference from sucrose (sugar). It would be a simple argument, if HFCS were the villains substance many claim to be, but consider that the increase reflects obesity in the United States in the world in all developed countries. Outside the U.S., high fructose corn syrup is an important factor in the daily caloric intake. Makes in Latin American countries, for example, soft drink consumption of a significant proportion of the total daily caloric intake and obesity is on the rise, but the manufacturers of sweetened soft drinks in Latin America, still with good old sucrose to their drinks. In this case, it is the caloric contribution, coupled with decreased physical activity, increasing the heft of the region.

With regard to the safety of the sugar and other sweeteners, consider this: since the introduction of HFCs (and the vast majority of people remember in the U.S., it consumes), the average life expectancy by about two years (not increased because of HFCS not, however, make clear the substance of systematically killing off the population). As for sugar, including fructose and HFCS makes us fat, the American consumption of sugar substitutes has been descending since its peak in 1999-on the order of about 10 lbs. per year per person, while at the same time, obesity is rising faster than ever before in our history!
